Blanching Veggies, Fireball Salsa, New Computer, Attempts to Vote, Major Contempt for Federal Gov't &

 Covid 19

September

As some of you may or may not know this blog isn't only a running tally of the covid19 headlines and associated stories, it's also a form of a journal of how we lived during the plandemic and the things we did.

Since my last entry, roughly a week ago now, we've been kept plenty busy with all sorts of things going on. Our son & his wife were over last weekend to use some of my husband's power tools in order to make something for her sister - which isn't finished, so apparently they'll be working on it again this weekend.

Meantime I had some veggies that I bought, that were sitting in the fridge as we couldn't possibly eat them all before they went bad, so I spent a couple of days blanching to freeze them, including the baby onions that I had to rescue from my garden because of my whipper snipper happy husband who cut all their stems down to ground level last week. Plus I had a basket full of very ripe tomatoes, and several hot peppers (jalapenos and chili peppers) in the fridge that a neighbour gave us, so I used the tomatoes, the peppers, some onions & corn to make the salsa, which I canned. But the stupid lids that they sell now a days doesn't seem to want to seal the jars, so despite being in the canner for 35 minutes the jars weren't sealed properly. So now I have one jar for us, and the others I had to give away.

As some of you may know bozo brains in Ottawa called for an early election, because he wants to grab more power than he had. But hopefully, the whole thing will backfire in his ugly face and he'll not only lose the power that he had, but he'll lose his seat altogether and we can then try him for crimes against humanity and mass genocide and senecide. Anyhow the little jerk is trying to make it as difficult as possible to vote. We stood in line for over an hour at advanced polls today and showed our cards to the idiot at the door and then the ditz at the front desk and neither one of those braindead bimbos could be bothered to tell us we don't vote there.  Instead we had to stand in line for another 20-30 minutes inside in order to get to the actual poll for them to tell us we don't vote there. I even saw there was only one number for the polls inside the room and I tried telling the moronic ditz who was standing at the entrance to the room that was responsible for ushering us into the room to the polling station that our number was different from the one showing the polling station, but she ignored me and ushered me over anyhow. Then I had to stand there for another few minutes while they tried to find my name on their list and they couldn't, so thennnnnnnnnnn all the braindead morons that work there, clued in and told me finally, oh no, you have to go some place else. Which isn't even in our district. You want to talk about angry, believe me I wasn't shy on my way out and let all the moronic dunces know what kind of idiots they were and how UNhelpful they were too. So because of that, we didn't get to vote today and may not get to either. My husband actually shredded his polling card, when we got home. But I want that mother f'n ash hole out of office, so if I have to run around throughout kingdom come and stand an hour each time in line until I finally find the right place, in order to cast my ballot I will. But these are the kinds of games they play in the southern US to inhibit voters and in 3rd world countries. Well I know the little idiot looks like a wanna-be 3rd world dictator and he probably wishes he was, but not if I have anything to do with it, he won't be.

And my new computer all set up for me, just arrived now too, via our son. So at least there's that bright spot. Going to have to try it out to see how it works. Keeping fingers crossed that it works well.

Got to try it out a little bit but most of the programs are still not on it. But what is on it works fine. Our son, made Windows 10 look and feel like Windows 7 or 8.  We've been using computers ever since the early 80s. In fact our first computer was the TI99/4A back in 1981. So we've used TI99 basic, and it's disk operating system where we used paper punches to punch holes in the sides of 5.25" diskettes to make them double sided to provide 360k's worth of storage. Then we had a Spectravideo 328 that used CP/M and it's own basic - it was trying to emulate MSX computers so the basic was very similar to that and MSX DOS was a form of MS DOS. Then we had an XT clone using MS DOS and a 286 and then a 486 (we skipped the 386s) which started using Windows 3.1 and then we graduated to Windows 95 and 98 and XP and on and on... My latest version was Windows 8.1 on my laptop and on my desktop Windows 7. But that computer died a slow and horrible death over the years where everything on it failed just about. So I got a new computer which uses only Windows 10 - as my husband can't stand Windows 10 and as a result isn't that well acquainted with setting it up, our son took it back to his place and set it up for me but so that it looks and feels like Windows 7/8. So that way it'll be easier for us to use and tinker with. Already my husband was using it like Windows 7 and added things onto it for me. When he finishes adding everything, he's going to make a final backup and then I should be good to go.

On top of that we've been plagued all week long by this skunk that keeps trying to get under our house and when/if our dog hears or smells it, she starts barking and the skunk stops trying to get under the house but sprays the gawd awful smelling skunk perfume and that just happens to be right beside my bedroom window. This has gone on every night this past week. Holy gawd.... We have to keep all the doors and windows open all day long to air the place out to get rid of the smell in here, only for the nasty creature to return and spray again that night. They can spray 5 or 6 times before they run out of the chemicals required to produce that nasty smell and can require up to 10 days to reproduce those chemicals in their system, according to Wikipedia. So since we don't smell it tonight - and I know it was here, because when our son left he saw it sitting on the spot where it normally tries to get under the house and raised it's tail to spray him and his wife was they left. They didn't get sprayed though, so hopefully the beast ran out of chemicals and will take another 10 days to reproduce some more. By then we should have some animal repellent thrown or sprayed in that spot in particular but all around the house in general. Which I hope keeps it away from here.

Our neighbour who works at one of the local golf courses borrowed one of those humane cage animal traps and set it up one night between our properties and caught the skunk in it. He took it and released it, elsewhere but obviously not far enough away from here to keep it from coming back.  He even took a picture of the critter on his cellphone to show us what he caught in the cage that night. I knew it was a skunk before he showed us the picture.

I mean that's all we need is for the real estate agent to bring a potential client over to see the place and the moment they walk in all they can smell is the skunk perfume. I seriously don't think they'll be interested in the place then.

That and other weird things have been happening since we put the place up for sale, that seems be colluding towards us not selling anything and staying here. It's almost like the house or the universe doesn't want us to leave and to not sell the place.

Plus I injured my back and hip and have been having problems with that this week as well.

Not to mention the crib games my friend and I have been challenging each other to, lately. I used to play well enough to win tournaments held in bars, with over 150 players (in teams of 2 against 2) at one point, now I'm lucky if I can win a hand at all, never mind a complete game. And our neighbours - 2 other couples wants us to get together with them to play backgammon tournaments for fun. The trick is finding the time that all of us can get together at the same time, to play. As we all have different lives and hence schedules.

So it's almost like there is no plandemic around here as life is getting as busy and crazy as it once used to be, for us.

Given that it's 20 years ago to the day now, that 9/11 occurred, though it is only in the wee hours of the morning yet, I'm wondering what today will bring. I know our son is coming back again to work on stuff and will be here for supper which will be spaghetti (we had tacos with him and his wife last night), but aside from that, out there in the wider world. Will it just be commemorations and ceremonies or will it be something more dramatic - now that the Taliban has all the military equipment and aircraft the US left behind?  Guess in a matter of hours I'll know.... As will we all.

So far so good. It's currently 7:31pm EST and so far as I know all is calm out there. Though there are still 4.5 more hours to go before the 9/11 anniversary is over with for another year.

We went out to get some animal repellent today and on our way back home we stopped to vote and got in right away (as it was near suppertime) and despite the fact that my husband shredded his polling card yesterday he was allowed to vote too. So that's 2 votes against the little genocidal/senecidal maniac in power. Let's hope there's enough such votes to get rid of him in parliament altogether. Guess we'll have to wait until the 20ieth to find out though. When we stopped to get the beer and wine and a baguette (to make garlic bread out of), I was feeling lucky and so bought 3 lotto tickets. I won't be holding my breathe on those even though I was feeling lucky, because I'm apt to die before winning anything more than a free ticket or maybe a big $50. But you never know. Like a cousin of mine used to say, you can't win if you don't play.

Now on with some of the overflowing headlines accumulated in my bookmark file:

Drake Reveals He Had COVID and Hair Loss Was a Lingering Side Effect: 'It's Coming Back'  It's doubtful a lot of seniors will know who this guy is, but if they have kids in their mid 30s and younger, I'm sure they'll have an idea.

Shoppers crowd New Zealand supermarkets after Jacinda Arden announces lockdown over single COVID case This is total insanity and an excellent example of  gov'ts excessive abuse of power.

Texas school officials think they've found dress code loophole in Abbott ban The lunacy attached to this virus on both ends of the spectrum is unreal. How can a governor who's supposed to be looking out for his people make a law against wearing something that might protect them? I mean why make a law at all. Just let the citizens be and if they wish to wear a mask then it should be their choice but don't forbid it altogether as it might actually cut down on cases and save a few lives. I mean I don't like wearing a mask, nor does anyone else I know, but maybe that's why we didn't get it yet because we wore our masks when out and about with others. I even got to vote with my mask on. I didn't have to take it off to reveal my face to prove that I looked the same as my photo ID I used.  Because here in QC, pretty much for over a year already we've had to wear masks  especially whenever we were inside a public building and supposed to be at home too if you had guests in the house when household bubble restrictions were lifted. Though I don't know anyone who  does that.  In fact, I took flowers to a friend this past week and I wasn't planning on going in the house I just wanted to hand them through the door to her husband and for him to present them to her on our behalf. But when she heard my voice she was yelling at me to go inside even though I didn't have a mask on. So I went in, but had no intentions of staying beyond a polite 5 or 6 minutes just to say hi and see how she was doing, but she kept me there talking to me and then her husband brought a chair right up behind my knees, so that if I stepped by even an inch I'd have wound up on my butt in the chair. So I sat down - not meaning to stay but drinks got poured and we got blabbing and wellllll..... The 5-6 minutes turned into almost an hour. No one got sick because of it.  But still there's the mask law when in public spaces, so that has to be obeyed because cops can be in public spaces too, much easier than they can get into private residences to enforce the mask laws.

Needle fears can cause COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, but these strategies can manage pain and fear Ya think? hehehe.... It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a  tough guy (think biker gang type tough guy) be afraid of needles. I swear sometimes people who don't seem to be afraid of anything can wind up being afraid of the most benign things around.  Some of them even pass out at the sight of a needle.

Game on? No sign of COVID-19 spread after limited attendance at pro football games But yet there is spread from church & wedding attendances and the like, but not after pro football games huh? Yeah that's a likely story alright. So in other words it's perfectly fine to go sit beside a bunch of strangers and guzzle drinks while yelling etc, but not go to church and demurely and quietly whisper to others while imbibing nothing, let alone an alcoholic beverage. And you want me to believe that one do you????? I don't think so.

Wildfire smoke may have led to thousands of additional COVID cases and deaths Same with air pollution of any type, I'd think. So that probably accounts for high cases and death rates in countries with air quality problems compared to other areas of the world where the air is cleaner.

Thanks to COVID, most unmarried adults are now open to a ‘micro-wedding’ Yeah I know what weddings are for technically speaking, but yet I don't know know what weddings are for. Is it mainly for the big bruhaha thrown when 2 people get married? That being a huge party that will cost the couple or their parents another mortgage that they'll have to pay for for the rest of their lives, just to impress friends and relatives? Or to make the bride feel like a princess for a day? Or for the legal document - marriage license? Because I seriously don't get why people have weddings in the first place if it's for the legal document. Why they go into so much debt to impress their friends and relatives when they could just pay a nominal fee at the city hall and get married there, in front of 2 witnesses if it's to get the legal document. But why do you need the legal document anyhow? For your parents approval? For immigration purposes? I mean why because those are the only 2 reasons I can see why someone might want/need that document, otherwise common-law marriages are recognized in most jurisdictions in Canada and probably in the US too.  People who want to stay together will, regardless of the piece of paper that they do or don't have. It's will and love that makes people stay together rather than some silly document, as witnessed by the divorce rates.

One-third of American families couldn’t cover a $2,000 emergency before the pandemic I'm sure the picture is pretty similar here in Canada although amongst what percentage of workers I can't say. But still I know there's lots of people out there struggling to make ends meet nevermind cover sudden unexpected expenses.

Pfizer COVID vaccine 86% effective after third shot - Maccabi AFTER 3rd shot! Moderna is at least that effective once fully vaccinated. Pfizer perhaps made their vaccines that weak on purpose - hoping to sell more shots as boosters. When you look at the people behind Pfizer (like Fauci &  Gates) it's pretty much a given.

Kidman quarantine exemption sparks anger in Hong Kong Like I said before there's rules/laws for us and then there's rules/laws for them - them like you know the Kidmans, the Obamas and the like.

Brit, 27, who went on holiday to remote island still stuck there 18 months later What I wonder is who pays for these people who are stuck in remote regions because of COVID and can't get home and hence back to work to earn an income? Who covers their bills for them while stuck in those locations? What happens if the person themselves are unable to cover their bills - as in ran out of money & credit? What happens then?

Scientists blast U.S. push for Covid vaccine booster shots as premature, say data isn’t compelling It's a little late now that the gov't has okayed those shots, isn't it?

Belgium scraps COVID-19 restrictions for restaurants and bars They're lifting restrictions because of the amount of people who've been vaccinated in their region.

Home drinking becoming the new normal as alcohol sales surge during COVID Well considering bars and restaurants were closed and it is cheaper to buy alcohol for home consumption anyhow, it's pretty much a given that this was going to happen.

Unvaccinated employees at Toronto hospital network told they will be fired And they're complaining about nursing and staff shortages as it is. Imagine what they'll be left with once they fire all those who don't comply.

Grocery Prices Hit all Time High You'd better believe it! $29.99 lb for steak - no, not filet mignon either, and other things like that. We wanted ground beef for the tacos and spaghetti that we had recently but ground beef was so freaking expensive it was actually cheaper to buy some lean sirloin roasts and grind them up to make ground beef with. That's a first time that I've seen that.

Nurses are leaving their jobs as COVID cases surge and wildfires burn in B.C.'s Interior Nurses will be leaving their jobs here in QC, the closer we get to the deadline for them to be vaccinated.

Canadian banks to require employees working in its offices to be fully vaccinated Still going to do banking by phone - just much easier and more convenient to do.

More than 4,000 Moderna vaccine doses wasted in Waterloo Region Wow! Just wow. Especially considering it's the best out of all the available vaccines. I would understand Astra Zeneca and Pfizer vaccines being wasted because they're the worst of them. But somehow the Cdn public have things twisted and think those 2 are better than Moderna.

Kitchener, Waterloo Region considering COVID-19 mandates for employees Pretty soon everyone everywhere will mandate the vaccines for whatever group they  wish. Whether it's employees or patrons or residents, or whoever.

Active COVID-19 cases in Quebec surpass 3,000, one new death recorded  Death counts are rather small, despite the case counts.

Mixed dose woes: Some Canadians lost out on jobs abroad due to their mixed vaccines And the funny thing is that neither Pfizer nor the Astra Zeneca vaccine should've been recognized as being a viable vaccine, because neither of them are.

Parents get coached on how to escape mask and vaccine rules Like I said before, there's lunatics on both ends of the spectrum here. I can't imagine why parents wouldn't want to protect their kids from illness, no matter how grave it might or might not be.

Scientists created false narrative over suspected Covid leak from Wuhan lab, say experts The dirt is finally starting to come out in the wash, now. I mean anyone who thought it didn't come from that lab especially after the news that they were fighting over the patent rights with Gilead Sciences for redemsivir (the first thought to be treatment) in 2016, needed their logic examined to see if they had any at all. I mean seriously how can you create a treatment against something if you didn't have that something available to you, in order to test your treatment against it? Or have it to break down to it's molecular level to see what made it tick and how it was put together. Or have created it yourself and wanting to make an antidote against it and have all the patent rights on it, so that when you release the virus to the world, you're holding the only known antidote against it and can then make the world sit up and listen to all your demands that you ask in return for a few paltry doses of the antidote - and if you want more, it'll cost you more etc...That's what that game was all about. Except that China never could get full rights to redemsivir and as it turned out it wasn't all that much of a cure against it anyhow. So then they tried to get together with Canada to make a vaccine and then wound up stealing all the research and samples on that and heading back to China with it and even that didn't work all that great either. The SinoCan vaccine isn't the greatest - and it's probably because it was mostly Chinese produced. The only thing they were any good at was creating and releasing the virus, but all the rest of the junk made in China from their cheap brandname knock-offs to their vaccines are nothing but pure unadulterated garbage. So China should be held for war crimes and crimes against humanity (EVERYONE IN THE GOV'T & IN THAT LAB) and made to rot in a 2x4 prison cell for rest of their miserable ugly little lives.

Mississippi Poison Calls Soar As Vaccine Skeptics Turn To Livestock Drug For COVID-19 More lunatics on the loose.... There's no shortage of them when it comes to this virus.

CPP Pension and OAS: Enough to Survive in 2021? Of course not. Snot-nosed bratty pre-schoolers gets almost as much as a single pensioner on those two incomes gets in a month. But the snot nosed brats also have their parents incomes to help cover their costs of living (but I cannot imagine a 4 year old's cost of living coming even close to what they get from the gov't for it - unless they're la-ti-dah brats with designer diapers and clothes with precious metal & gems for buttons and barrets etc...), not to mention cheap or free daycare, tax rebates for all their extracurricular activities etc... Seniors don't get tax credits for extra curricular activities, nor cheap or free day care or any kind of care for that matter, especially things like dental care, eye care & auditory care and since their parents are long gone, they don't have mommy's & daddy's income to help them along if they can't make it on their own piddly little incomes the gov'ts deign to "give" them. When in point of fact the gov't is GIVING THEM NOTHING SINCE IT WAS EARNED & PAID FOR BY THE SENIOR DURING THIER WORKING YEARS IN THE FORM OF PENSION DEDUCTIONS. Precisely what the spoiled I, me, mine, self centered and self entitled generation of parents doesn't get. They figure that the elders have no rights to anything, when in fact they not only do, because they paid into it but in almost all cases those same elders are the parents of those spoiled self-centered dip-sheites masquerading as parents today. Whose parents got SFA for them when they were kids and had to pay for everything on their own and in a lot of cases sacrificed so that they could have and do the things they wanted when they were kids. But being the selfish, self-centered, self-entitled ingrates that they are, they now think that those very same parents that paid for everything out of their own pockets and got no help from the gov't whatsoever and on top of that sacrificed so those very same selfish ingrates could have everything they wanted, figures that thier parents should have to do without because those selfish ingrates need as much money as they can get for their snot nosed brats that haven't done or paid a damned thing to help this country along yet. I'm sorry, I'm just super sick and tired of seeing the seniors (or my generation) being CONSTANTLY IGNORED & KICKED IN THE TEETH BY ALL SUCCESSIVE CDN GOV'TS SINCE DAY 1. We didn't get any help raising our kids, like our kids are now getting for their kids, we didn't get any grants to fix our homes (like our parents did), we didn't get SFA in the way of help from anyone for anything and now even in our old age trying to get some of the money we paid into the pension funds back is like pulling teeth and we're being made to feel guilty for wanting OUR OWN MONEY BACK!

Like go screw yourselves you bunch of ingrates and Waterhole & all his ash hole back benchers that panders to the biggest self-centered, self-entitled ash hole in Canadian history.

Gawd if we seniors weren't all so riddled with health problems and arthritis, I'd say we should mount a rebellion to take back what's legally ours and let the snot nosed brats do with a few dollars less per month. They don't need it anyhow. I mean gawd it's gotten so bad, that a couple could just stay home from work jumping each other all day long cranking out babies one after the other and never have to work again. Just 4 babies will bring in $2,000 a month pretty much until they turn 18. So mommy & daddy could stay home and not have to lift a finger to earn any of that money. Easy money if you ask me.

A lot easier than the ways we had to make money. I mean in my day if I had 4 kids that would've given me a whopping $28 a month. Not even enough for a day's worth of babysitting for one kid let alone 4 kids. I had to pay for babysitters so I could work, too, I didn't have any free daycare or even $10 a day daycare. I wish, because then I wouldn't have been so broke all the freaking time. But if I were getting $500 & $600 a month per kid (like today's parents get), I wouldn't have had a problem paying babysitters as that's pretty much what it would've cost me per month. But I didn't get that and I still had to pay for the babysitters anyhow.

So you want to know why I'm so bitter towards the gov'ts, that's one of the miriad of reasons. The injustice of it all. The lack of fairness in our society and BS fake compassion and caring shown towards certain groups like the seniors, and various racial groups etc... It's all just a f'n BS charade. That's just a couple of the several hundred reasons I detest the gov't.

SO IT'S HIGH TIME THE GOVERNMENTS STARTING PAYING THE SENIORS THE MONEY THEY'RE OWED! AFTER ALL THE YEARS THEY HELD THAT MONEY & ACCRUED INTEREST ON IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE INTEREST RATES WERE UP AROUND 21%, THEY MUST'VE ACCUMULATED A STAGGERING AMOUNT OF INTEREST ON OUR MONEY! SO IT'S TIME THEY GAVE US BACK WHAT THEY RIGHTFULLY OWE US AND NOT JUST A PITTANCE OF IT!!!!!!

At least that's what I think of it anyhow. And if more of us did, then perhaps they wouldn't be getting away with giving us so little to live on each month as they are! PAY US WHAT YOU OWE US YOU BUNCH OF THIEVING ASH HOLES!

‘Tainted’ Blood: Covid Skeptics Request Blood Transfusions From Unvaccinated Donors What are these people going to do when/if vaccinations are mandated nation wide? Where will they get their blood from then? Or will they just simply decide to forego  the transfusion and see what happens?

COVID-19 back to school: Canadians in favour of 'barring' unvaccinated students from in-person learning, Yahoo/Maru poll says Canadians are turning out to be the most sanctimonious bunch of hypocritical sheeple imaginable. Holier than thou morons who don't have a thimble full of brains between them, considering the vaccines have yet to be approved for kids below the age of 12.  So they're in favour of keeping those kids out of school eh? When it's proven that vaccinated or not, we can STILL GET THE VIRUS!!!!!! So vaccinations aren't the be all and end all all those moronic sheeple thinks they are. I wish they could get that through their incredibly thick skulls.

We must not take our eye off the ball as Covid could roar back, warns expert It "could roar back" eh? Wondering which planet that person lives on, considering that from what I can gather it's already well under way roaring back, on this particular planet.

Doctor breaks down how Canada can move on from COVID-19 in the fall The gov't mouthpiece doctor, so of course he'll say we should stop following case counts - because that's what the gov't wants us to do - that way we have no indicator of how good or bad things are going despite all the vaccinations given out.

37 new COVID cases in Singapore, including 16 unlinked 16 unlinked? So you mean there's 16 cases where the disease just popped up out of nowhere in those victims? No known contacts for it, no known methods of transmission - like touching doorknobs contaminated with it, or eating food prepared by someone else who coughed on it,  or anything like that? If that's the case, then what's the point of lockdowns and isolation, if we don't need to be in contact with anyone or anything else that has the virus and it can just pop up out of nowhere to infect us?  Which I find highly suspect, considering all diseases to date have been transmitted via some means and didn't just pop up out of nowhere in thin air to infect someone at random like that.

COVID-19 business slowdown leads to permanent closure of South Okanagan model railway museum That's really too bad. I think I saw this museum or another like it on TV before and it was really quite something. I really liked it and had wanted to visit it or at least one similar to it, as it was rather far away from us, so I'd have liked to have seen something similar but closer if I could've.

Sask. Union of Nurses calls for mandatory COVID-19 immunizations for all health-care workers Here in QC a lot of them are against manadatory vaccinations.

Fewer deaths, hospitalizations expected amid rise in Quebec COVID-19 cases Good so it's mirroring what it really is.... A flu.

Canadians split on new COVID-19 travel rules that require vaccine: 'I'll just fly out of Buffalo from now on' From the headlines I've seen recently, you'd better do your flying out of Buffalo soon, because it looks like Biden is mulling over the same rules as Waterhole - by requiring passengers to be vaccinated too.

Springsteen, Santana, The Killers: Tropical storm Henri cuts short NY's Covid-19 recovery concert Well considering they recently climbed to over 1 million cases since the plandemic began, in NYC, I think a "recovery concert" was a little premature to begin with, so maybe it's good it was cancelled as there was no actual recovery going on.

Why many Canadians may be going through compassion fatigue You sure those sanctimonious holier-than-thou ash holes had any compassion to begin with? When they were so eager and ready and willing to call the gestapo cops on anyone and everyone (including friends and neighbours) that they saw breaking any covid rules? Knowing those people would be issued exorbitant fines? Are those the compassionate people you're talking about here? Because that was back in the early days of the plandemic when they were doing things like that, long before this plandemic started wearing on them and their so-called compassion. Maybe you've discovered and talked to those sanctimonious pricks to begin with and they're the same ones who were walking around with 911 on speed dial just ready to go in order to report on the couple walking in front of them who had no masks on or the people who were following that couple 2 inches too close - you know the perfect people who never do anything wrong. Because if they're not the same ones with 911 on speed dial and this is a new fresh batch of compassionless people, then Canada is in a whole heap of trouble.

More than 23,000 metro Atlanta students in quarantine weeks into school year Holy cow, if that doesn't make the case for in classroom masks then I don't know what does.

Rescue dogs shot dead by NSW council due to COVID-19 restrictions What a f'n lame excuse. Maybe someone should shoot all the ozzies who get covid dead too. That way they wouldn't have need of lockdowns and their hospitals wouldn't overflow and others wouldn't be catching the virus from the carriers, as the carriers would be shot dead before they could spread it. Perhaps the person that came up with that policy ought to be shot dead too. Just saying.....

Australian PM Morrison defends lockdown strategy as daily cases hit record There see? If those 914 case counts from that day were shot dead and those of the case counts from days previous were shot dead each day, there would be no need for lockdowns there.

Vaccine resistance in the military remains strong, a dilemma for Pentagon as mandate looms  hehehe What are they going to do if all the military decides to quit en masse in protest of taking the vaccine? What then? Oh boy won't all the various countries they've meddled in over the decades have a field day getting revenge then? And they think covid will kill them, wait'll those countries finish with them if their military decides to quit en masse because of the vaccine mandate!  They've stuck their noses in too many affairs and had their thumbs stuck in too many pies now, that they need their deterrents like their military and nukes just to ensure those countries don't decide to take revenge on them someday.

Liberals won't get their expected cakewalk, Conservatives say after week one Hopefully, they won't get anything. Not even 1 seat in parliament and that they're trounced even worse than Mulbaloney's Conservative party was in his last election! At least Mulbaloney left the conservatives with 3 seats in parliament after his last election. I hope bozo brains is left with 0 seats in parliament and the lieberal party is decimated to oblivion. That's what I hope happens with this election. Then I hope that the winning PM grabs everyone of those genecidal maniacs and their cohorts - aka Tam and throws them all in jail awaiting trial for crimes against humanity including genocide and senecide! Waterhole should also stand trial for treason (paying terrorists 10s of millions of dollars of our money) and importing a few potential terrorists on our dime as well. Not to mention get to the bottom (the real truth) of what went on in regards to SNC Lavalin and throw all the criminals in that case including Waterhole himself in jail for that as well - append those years on to the ones he gets for treason, genocide, senecide and embezzlement (yes he embezzled the taxpayer by taking all those unnecessary trips hither and yon the moment he got elected to office) and anything else the government may have on him. Just add all the years on behind each other consecutively and make him serve the time and not in a cushy cell either, but in an ordinary cell like all other prisoners would get.

FDA grants full approval to Pfizer-BioNTech’s Covid shot, clearing path to more vaccine mandates Well of course, we knew that was going to happen, since Fauci literally pushed them into it. Now that they complied with his wishes he must be drooling and giddy with glee at all the money he's going to make now. Because now it's not just 2x per person it's 3x per person and he has a vested interest in Pfizer. So he stands to make half as much more money as he's already made on the shots.

Pregnant, Unvaccinated and Intubated: Case Surge Alarms Doctors  They shouldn't be intubating pregnant women. Or anyone really as that's basically a death sentence right there.

Companies are implementing vaccine mandates. Can employees reject them? Seems like the bottom line is, if the employee wishes to keep their job, no they can't reject them.

Canada Recovery Benefit now unavailable to people who didn't file taxes in 2019, 2020 Oh that's so helpful. Maybe they didn't file taxes for 2020 because they didn't think they had to if they had no income because of the plandemic.

Seniors cut off from income supplement after receiving emergency benefits How come mommy and daddy weren't cut off from their enormous family allowance cheques after recieving emergency benefits eh?

In Canada's pandemic election, unvaccinated candidates are knocking on doors No one knocked on our doors, but we did get 3 calls from the Lieberal party, the last of which they were told they could go F themselves. So didn't hear from them again.

Vaccine passports are here Here as in BC here.

African swine fever may have made COVID-19 more likely I guess one off the wall cockamamie theory is as good as the next half baked theory. I mean seriously???? It's like taking a banana and saying hmmmm I think maybe this is the forerunner to an ostrich. It makes about as much sense as that.

The Pandemic Has Most Americans Paying No Federal Income Taxes It's probably a similar story here in Canada too, hence the reason some people didn't file a 2020 income tax, for which they're now being penalized.

Vietnam deploys troops to enforce COVID lockdown in largest city Sounds like some other countries we know of.

Anyhow that's it for now. Can barely keep my eyes open any longer. So until next time, take care and stay well.

Lots of Headlines to Get to About....

 Covid19

February 15, 2021

As you might've surmised by the picture above, some serious border controls have been introduced in various parts of the world, recently. The most stringent being in the UK, which came into effect today apparently. Since there's a rather steep fine and or jail time associated with breeching the laws surrounding that border control mandate, I thought everyone visiting the blog ought to be made aware of it, in case they have travel plans to the UK.

There's new rules in effect for people coming into Canada today as well. I do believe it's for those crossing the land border between our country and the US.  There shall be more about this in the news stories posted below. So keep your eyes peeled if you need that particular information.

Anyhow, I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day with their significant other. I know I did. We had planned to have something specific for supper, but wound up having something else entirely - which was an awesome surprise to me as it's my all time favourite meal, which up until yesterday I had to rely on my own recipes I concocted for it, because I didn't know the real recipe (I was close but no cigar). All I had wrong though was I was using Sherry instead of vinegar in the recipe. Anyhow I found the recipe, online,  from one of the family members of the restaurant that invented and served this recipe.  When I made it as per their recipe, it was awesome! Now I don't have to go back to NS just to get a decent serving of it, I can make it in my own kitchen now. That is so awesome!

But what's even more awesome is my husband agreed to have some with me, for dinner, because he is not a big lover of fish or seafood, so a hot lobster sandwich isn't his thing. He's more of a smoked meat sandwich guy.

Hmmmm, I just noticed something..... Both of our favourite sandwiches are regional to the areas where we grew up. I'm from SW NS, which is where that lobster sandwich was invented and he's from the Montreal area, where Smoked Meat originates.

If anyone wants the recipe to that lobster sandwich there's a link to it on my Valentine's page - just click on the Valentine's label in the right hand side bar to get there.

Then afterwards we watched a movie together with a glass of wine in hand. That was our pandemic lockdown Valentine's celebration. Normally we'd go out to a restaurant where we could enjoy a good meal and a drink in a nice ambience.

Now on with the neverending news about this dreaded disease and all the fallout from it....

Challenges to Covid-19 Lockdowns Have Been Mostly Losing in Court  This is bad, bad news. If they're losing in the US, they'll never fly in Canada, because in the US the courts actually knows what their constitution says and means, whereas in Canada the whole entire judicial system from the courts on down to lawyers have no f'n clue what it says or means or how to interpret it or defend it, apparently because everytime there's a case that someone wants to bring to court because of the constitutionality involved in the case, it's a big deal just to find a lawyer who can do that. Then the judges have to deliberate on it forever before making a decision of any kind so it could be decades before we'd know if our laws breached our civil rights as defined in our constitution. Meanwhile they've rotted in the jail cell forever, if they refuse to grant them bail.

Even despite the much hyped vaccination campaign? Hmmmm..... Wondering why....

COVID-19: More than a quarter of adults struggling financially as pandemic bites - poll That's sad. Considering it's ALL the gov't's fault 1) because they didn't act soon enough to close their borders to all incomers when the plandemic first started and 2) because it was by their mandates that people were forced to shut down their businesses causing all of this hardship. So it should be the gov't that pays these people to support them during this time!!!! Not charities and other organizations but the ones directly responsible for all this BS, namely the governments!!!!! Not just in the UK either, but all the gov'ts who can be tarred with the same brush. Like this book  Snakes and Ladders: The great British social mobility myth  depicts, to the ruling elite it's all just a game, they let you climb so high on the socio-economic ladder and then whoops that's it, you're back down on the ground again. I think they play that game all over the western world, because they're very adept at playing it in North America too as the next story demonstrates....

Again very sad! And I applaud Biden for giving them some relief in the form of a $1,400 cheque, but in the case of these people I think it's going to take much more than that to get them at least in some form of secure shelter with enough food to eat. And same as I just said above, it should be the gov'ts responsibility to take care of them since it's the gov't's negligence and then resulting policies  that caused them to be in this position in the first place! So the gov't is the guilty party here (no matter who the president was at the time) and they need to fix it, but in the meantime they also need to help the people that were worst affected by their negligence and lousy decisions.

Parents of children returning to UK alone face ‘stressful’ quarantine dilemma What's going to happen to the kids if they forget to mention some place they've been? Or don't understand what's being asked and so answer erroneously? Are they going to be fined 10,000 pounds and locked up for 10 years too?

The science behind why hobbies can improve our mental health Without even reading this article I can tell you why they help me. First they give me something to focus my attention and mind on while I'm working on them. I mean you have to watch what you're doing when you're using dremels,  utility knives, hot wax, woodburning tools, sewing needles or machines,  or knitting patterns - counting stitches and rows and paying attention to all the various stitch instructions. (And yes I actually use all those things, along with a lot of other tools, materials and machines in my crafts) You can't afford to let your mind wander - you have to stay focused. So if you're staying focused and concentrating on what you're doing, you aren't thinking about other things. Plus once you complete your project, it gives you a sense of satisfaction and if others compliment you on it, a sense of pride as well. That's why I enjoy making things (not just crafts but food items as well, from a jar of chutney or jam, to jerky, or bread to a sumptuous feast for guests.) It gives me not only something to do but something else to focus my mind on so I can forget about what's going on out there in the world for a little while.

I hope they get the answers they're looking for and if they do they share them with the rest of the world, so we all know.

China refused to give COVID data: WHO investigator Right there it looks like they have something to hide and are trying to cover it. So why wouldn't we think they had something to do with it, when they refuse to be transparent about it?

7 Small Things You Can Do to Help Protect Yourself From COVID-19 Variants All good advice, amazingly. Since we don't see that in the media very often.

Pharmacies ready to help administer COVID-19 vaccines across Canada, association says Good. Then if it goes the same way they administered the flu shot in November, we don't have to do anything except answer a phone, make an appointment note on the calendar and show up at the appropriate time wearing the appropriate clothing (short sleeved shirt).

Families could get stimulus checks every month, starting this summer  Not sure if they have family allowance in the US or not, already. If not this may be their excuse to implement one, in order to come more in line with what Canada has. I mean after all if we're going to make one happy hemisphere under the OAS  (Organization of American States) then eventually we'll all have to align our policies one way or another, if it's going to be anything like the EU in the end.

CDC: Strong evidence in-person schooling can be done safely  Then other things like going to church or movies where people remain seated and can be seated so many feet apart from each other like in school, should be allowed. I don't see the difference there.

To bad they don't say why, because from what I read here, there's no reason for a stay or acquittal either for that matter.

White tiger cubs in Pakistan likely died of COVID Awwww so sad, such beautiful creatures too.

How much are Schwab & Gates paying you to be their front man for them? I hope it's worth it in the end.

Except "some" countries in the G7 have NO VACCINE with which to do that! Or did you conveniently forget that the EU blocked shipments of the vaccine even to Canada and the US won't share any of it's vaccines with us..... So um yeah so much for partnerships and allies. With friends and allies like the likes of you hypocritical clowns, who needs f'n enemies anyhow?????

Talk about overkill. Nfld & Lab are HUGE areas, separated by ocean, requiring ferries to traverse from one area to the other or back to Canada's mainland. So if  a variant was found in St. John's for instance, why are you shutting down the entire province? Why not just shut down the highways that leads from St. John's to anywhere else, that way Corner Brook and Portes aux Basques aren't affected by this stupidity too, especially if there's no need for them to be affected by it.  Not to mention Anthony's and Gander and the rest of the province, or Labrador City for that matter. I just find it incredibly draconian when gov'ts do this, especially for no explicable reason.

Taking Valentine's Day safety to heart Yup, you're supposed to SOCIALLY distance yourselves, so remember that. Can't be developing any kind of social bonds, doncha know that? That's what socially distancing is all about and lockdown and quarantine - being cut off from emotional support groups and those that care about us and those we care about. Has nothing to do with staying 6 feet away from each other because if it did, people wouldn't be acting the way they do in stores.

You want to talk about power tripping and abuse of power???? Here's a prime example. The cops weren't happy enough with handing out the tickets to the couple in the car, they had to follow them to their destination and then try to get inside but couldn't without a warrant which they got and then went in the house to ticket everyone inside too. Wow, just wow.... That's not exactly what I call fair and unbiased here. Like the clowns driving with their lights off after curfew and the cops searching their car for all the weapons and everything else they found. They might've had a leg to stand on in court about that if they weren't caught driving with their lights off, but since they were the cops could use that as a reasonable excuse for search and seizure and arrest too. But following a couple that's already been ticketed for something in order to give them another ticket???? That's like following someone who was caught speeding in order to give them another ticket the moment they're one kilometer over the speed limit. I think that's called harassment.  Anyhow.... Just f'n WOW.

Ontario unveils more reopening details as 3rd wave fears grow I don't live in Ontario, but if I did, I'd be demanding that these reopenings are pemanent, no matter how many dozens more waves we have to face. Because I get the feeling that a lot of these "new strains" are merely more means of scaring us into compliance and letting them shut things down and cage us up in our houses for even longer. If we don't stand up to them and refuse to be put back in our cages every few weeks, we'll have wave after wave after wave and this will go on forever, like the waves in the ocean. They'll just never end. So at some point people are going to have to stand their ground and refuse to be put under lockdown anymore . And the only reason anyone should allow themselves to be put under quarantine is if they have the disease themselves or know of someone who does and they were in contact with them. Otherwise F that noise too and defy the hell out of it. Because it's getting ridiculous now, here in QC where cops ticket someone and then follow them so they can not only ticket them again but everyone else in the house where they went. That's called police state and police abuse and harassment and that's what all other places will wind up being if they let the authorities (aka gov't) have that much leeway. So before you get there, stop it and stop it in it's tracks. You're lucky in Ontario that Ford isn't as much of a power tripping dictator as Legault is here in QC, that's all I've got to say about that.

We just had some sczechuan food at home, with some sake and that was our muted celebration this year. Normally we'd have gone to the restaurant for such an event, but alas it wasn't open so we couldn't go and could only order. It was better than nothing and gave us a little something to celebrate to change the mood from monotony, boredom and apathy towards the plandemic and anger towards the govts, to something a little happier and nicer.

While my son's wife is a nurse and she's not in danger of losing her job anytime soon on account of the plandemic, his work life has been a bit precarious, given that he's an interior architect/designer and also a professor teaching 3d design via AutoCad. Because for a while all construction was shut down that meant there was no demand for interior designers or architects and because all schools were shut down or went online in the spring, for a while he wasn't teaching at all and then he was but online. But that took almost his entire waking life because what he teaches is complicated and so he had to allow a certain period of time after class per student for them to get help if they needed it. I forget how much time he had to allot to each student but he said he wound up basically spending 16 hour days with the class online and then he still had to grade their work afterwards (which he did  on weekends). So he was basically only getting paid for 1/4 of the amount of time he worked. Which he wasn't too happy about and I don't blame him. Since his motorcycle accident he hasn't been able to walk without crutches and a boot cast, and so hasn't really gone anywhere. Fortunately for him I guess, he has a partner that works with him and so does all the running around and our son does all the design work and other "paper work" (mostly done on computers with no paper involved, but you get the idea).  So while he didn't lose his job per se, he did lose a lot of business and a large portion of his work was unpaid because of the plandemic. But it caused a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty for him and his wife because of their finances, as CNA nurses (which is what she is - it's equivalent to an LPN in the US I guess) they don't make a ton of money. You'd think they made more than they do, but basically it's the same rule of thumb as it was when I was a nurse - 2x whatever the minimum wage is. That's the basic salary. When you look at the training involved, the responsibilities (I mean legal liabilities they face if things go wrong, or a doctor wishes to lay the blame at the nurse's feet), all the sheite (literally and figuratively speaking) they deal with and abuse they take from anxious angry relatives to belligerent patients or male patients with grabby paws that you just want to smack but can't. I mean to me it just wasn't worth the paltry sum I was getting paid to put up with that, but she is and all I can say is she deserves way more than she's getting. So do all nurses. But there were times when he had no work because the construction was stopped that they were worried about things because they had to rely on what she was making which wasn't much more than double the minimum wage.

Saskatchewan pressured to prioritize all health care workers for vaccines That should've been a no-brainer.... But like everything else with this plandemic most people in charge of dealing with any aspect of it, seem to have no brains...

Seriously???? You clowns make it sound like we never administered vaccinations en masse before!!!! I guess most journalists were only born after 2009 when H1N1 went through eh???? So now we have 12 & 13 year olds in charge of our vaccination campaigns and news media do we???? No wonder they don't know how to do it. Look you bunch of inbred idiots (gawd, it's incredible how f'n stupid everyone's gotten all of a sudden) if we could vaccinate all 35 or 37 million Cdns in 3-4 months max for H1N1, I'm pretty sure we could do it again for the Coronavirus, if we really wanted to. Trouble is, it seems like everyone's pretending they have mass amnesia and dithering and dancing about it as a means of procrastinating the rollout, for some reason. And I'm sure it's not a good reason either.

Some foreign nationals are getting coronavirus vaccines in the United States  Geez you're only finding this out now? Canadians could've told you think about a month ago or so when some Cdns in Florida were getting vaccinated along with the residents of Florida.

Hmmmm wondering why.... Does he know about something to do with it, that no one else does?

Ummmm.... Either because they don't exist or they're not so much deals as they are raw deals? Could either of those be the reason? I'd go with the first reason as in they don't exist.

Canada is 'playing chicken' with COVID-19 by reopening while variants are spreading widely Apparently there's 4,000 variants that scientists are aware of. So if we were to keep our economies shut while each of those took a turn at sauntering through our population, the economy would sink and collapse and never revive or relaunch again. So at some point we're just going to have to suck it up and open up and hope for the best. But if we're removing the restrictions on businesses we should be removing ALL restrictions on everyone for everything. Because it's not fair forcing someone to risk their lives just to go to work, without having any opportunity to enjoy their lives outside of work. After all it is their life and if they want to do something they should be allowed, even if it means putting their life at danger - after all it's their life to live and die as they please.

I hope these passport thingies are just temporary until the vast majority are vaccinated and there's a herd immunity thing going on. Because the passport I proposed a year ago was for this very reason, to allow people with immunity to move around unimpinged while the vast majority of people still didn't have immunity and were subject to acquiring the virus and getting sick from it. Just as a temporary measure so that those who were immune wouldn't have to wait months more for everyone else's immunity to be equally protected from the virus, in order to start to live a little and visit others (who were immune or not). That's what I proposed the passport for but it wasn't meant to be digital and definitely not after there was full herd immunity. That after that, the passports would become redundant and just not used anymore or thrown out altogether.

Owners of CHSLD Herron to seek delay, publication ban in public inquiry on deaths in long-term care homes I think part of their punishment should be FULL PUBLIC HUMILIATION and so they shouldn't be allowed a publication ban.

I bet you anything, that IF we did check for strain differences when doing the negative/positive tests we'd have noticed that we have several different strains all uniquely Canadian and have had since the beginning. They say there's 4,000 variants in the world, that they know about. I bet there's a couple dozen or more Canadian strains too, only no one knows about those because no one ever checked for those. In fact Canada never checked for strains at all until the UK said "oh btw, we have a particularly contagious strain floating around here in the UK and have had since September". Then health Canada and the other health depts across the country pulled their pants up and sat up and took notice of what was going on and decided that maybe they should at least check for that strain here in Canada, but only since the recent announcement out of the UK. They didn't go back among the positive samples taken since October to see if there might be any of that strain in those samples. In fact they never looked for various strains before recently. So these growing threats of variants are probably already here and maybe there's more than a couple that are Cdn in origin but we'd never know because of the whole shoddy way this whole plandemic BS has been handled from the get go.

Of course, just as I thought. I'm sure that back in November there were people running around Wuhan with the virus.

Lockdown opponents call for arrest, assault and murder of Niagara’s medical officer of health I'm not so sure I'd call for assault and murder of the guy, but arrest yes, having him removed from office yes, defy all his directives yes definitely.

My Phony Valentine: Covid Fuels Romance Scams  Why not? There's been puppy scams, vaccine scams, cat scams and now this all related to COVID.... Might as well. I'm sure it's not going to be the lst one before this plandemic is over with either.

Coronavirus: Canada to receive 400,000 Pfizer vaccine doses next week As I said before, I'll believe it when I see it.

I guess Canada's one of the poorer ones then even though we're in the G7.

Some Europeans get choosy about which vaccines they want It's your body, so you should have a say as to what goes in it. If you want one particular vaccine for whatever reason and they have the doses available then you should be allowed to have it.

But again as I stated above, these should only be used until there's mass herd immunity and then after that thrown out.

If this is true it's totally reprehensible! Not only should they be blamed for their actions but held to account for them too! I wonder if this is part of the triage group in QC, that's supposed to be left to die if the hospitals can't handle the amount of patients any more? I'm pretty sure there's age groups in the triage, along with certain health problems other than covid, involved as well, but I wonder if there's other criteria like learning or other disability or perhaps ethnicity? I'm talking about the type of people doctors will be asked to triage to the back of the line if the hospitals become over crowded here in QC. I mean until I saw this article it never even occurred to me that they'd use such classifications for such purposes.

Homebuying Intentions Soar As Canadians Redesign Their Lives For An Era Of Remote Work Yup I know. We've had a couple of real estate agents call us about selling our house and then we had a neighbour come over and ask if we thought about selling our house and if we do to let them know as they'd be interested in buying it. Yeah, sure I'll do that immediately considering I know they won't be able to afford it.... I mean I don't know what's the sudden interest in our house all about..... Anyhow when we do decide to sell it'll be on our terms for our price and if the buyers don't like that, oh well that's their problem not ours. One way or another we have to live somewhere and we might as well continue living here as anywhere else, especially considering we love it here and the only reason we'd sell is so we could get a nicer place, that's all. If we can't afford something nicer after selling this place, then what's the point of it? Might as well stay where we are.

You know gov'ts should've thought about this before they agreed to go along with the WEF/Gates plandemic plan and let Gates sully up all the vaccines on the markets by investing in them all. If you wanted people to take the vaccines it would've been better if Gates had nothing to do with the whole damned plandemic and there was no RNA based vaccines either. 'Our grandchildren's grandchildren will get Covid'

I hope not. I hope we are able to develop a vaccine that's good enough to cope with all potential variants, sooner or later.

Royal Caribbean Group, Norwegian probably will require crew to get COVID-19 vaccines before boarding cruise ships

They should, considering that those things are nothing but floating petri dishes. So the fewer people aboard carrying fewer germs is probably better for everyone overall.

India to ship COVID-19 vaccines to Canada as diplomatic tension eases Of course because the leadership of India is way more mature and wise than the little imbecile we have at our helm. It's very nice of India to do that for us. I would like to thank India myself, for that.

Bill Gates says innovation sparked by COVID-19 pandemic could help eradicate global diseases

Oh yeah right. I'm sure it's going to eradicate everything from cancer & cardiac problems to arthritis and ulcers. This guy is such a freaking blowhard, he's unreal.

Quoting the blowhard, now: He said the pandemic had led to great strides in global health  ------> Yeah 2 million people dying who probably wouldn't have died otherwise was great strides in global health alright. Strides backwards he means.

Most at risk, first in line: Public health experts say racialized Canadians should be prioritized for vaccines

So basically that leaves the below 65 whites at the end of the line. I mean if you're prioritizing the elderly, the essential service workers, the health care workers, the natives, the criminals, and now the visible minorities, that only leaves the whites below the age of 65, who will find themselves at the back of the line. Talk about reverse racism and prejudices.... Just for your information only 16% of the world population, is of European descent. While the Asian races makes up almost 50% of the population. So who's more at risk of going extinct here? White Canadians or other race Canadians besides blacks who make up 13.x% of the population and the natives who make up a very minor amount? So how about this if you want to go by race, then fine put the Natives first, Blacks second, Whites 3rd and then all the rest behind the Whites!?! That way it would be fair to the population demographics of the planet.

Instead of a universal basic income, governments should enrich existing social programs

I agree and that should also include the seniors pensions as they perhaps have the highest upkeep costs - just to maintain their health on all levels. Not to mention that groceries, gas, rent, and just about everything else that it costs the single young adult making minimum wage, it also costs the senior citizen living on very minimum pensions (usually less than $1,000 a month for single individuals). So if it costs a young person $2.50 for a loaf of bread, it also costs the senior citizen that as well. There aren't any senior citizen discounts on things like food, gas, shelter and the like. So if you can give a young person $2,000 a month to live on you should bloody well be giving single seniors the same damned amount unless their income tax returns show that they earned over a certain amount the prior year.

Considering this is what they had in mind to do: On the other hand, according to a report released by the Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer in 2020, the estimated cost of a watered-down version of UBI — called a guaranteed basic income — covering only low-income, working-age Canadians (estimated at 9.6 million Canadians between the ages of 18 to 64) would be in range of $47.5 billion to $98.1 billion for a six-month period

Leaving the senior citizens high and dry without any help yet again. Gawd I hope and pray that when those little self entitled idiots in parliament get to be retirement age that they get next to no money to live on too. That none of them manage 8 years in office and so don't qualify for a cushy gov't pension and instead have to live off the scraps they throw the way of the average Cdn senior citizen. And whoever is in power when they get to be that age, is as callous and stingy with them as they are with the current senior citizens of today. Or maybe with any luck they'll have a reincarnation of  Paul Martin as a finance minister and he'll use their pensions to pay off the deficit with. Then they'll find out what it's all about... Hope they like the deschets haute cuisine because they'll have to live on it.

Canada's Wonderland to be COVID-19 vaccination site as mass immunization plans ramp up

Such grandiose plans for such piddly amounts of vaccine that will actually be available at any one time. It doesn't matter if you designate half of Ontario as a mass immunization site, you're not going to have that much more than you're already slated to get. So you really don't need that big of a space really. Unless you plan to use all your doses up in 1 or 2 days. I mean the way you're ramping up you'd think you were getting a gazillion doses a day or something. Gawd all of Canada is only getting 400,xxx doses per week. That's like 40,000 doses per province and even fewer when we take the territories and Nunavut into the equation.  I mean gawd use your common sense, why don't you? That works out to about 8,000 jabs a day given per province. So unless your whole entire population is near that theme park, that's just pure unbridled silliness. I mean what about places like Barry? Sudbury? Ottawa? Thunder Bay? Windsor? Kitchener/Waterloo? London? Wawa? They're not all going to want to drive from wherever they live to that theme park. That's for sure.
