Knee Injury & Headlines About....

 Covid19

 Courtesy Pixabay.com
February 23, 2021

As you might be able to tell from the featured picture today, mass vaccinations are starting soon in Quebec.  Which is good news!  As it's down near the end of the bookmarks in my bookmark file (as it's one of the last ones bookmarked), in case I don't get that far down, I am posting the link to that story here: Quebec will begin vaccinating people 85 and older next week

And I am going to post a quote from the story, to help those who wish to know how to arrange to get the appointment in case they miss it in the story.

Quebec estimates there are another 200,000 people who are 85 and older who don’t live in CHSLDs or private seniors’ homes. It expects the majority of them to receive the first dose within two weeks.

Under certain circumstances, caregivers who accompany a person 85 or older could also be vaccinated at the same time, the government said. The caregiver must be 70 or older and provide support to their loved one at least three days a week.

People can sign up for their shot online starting Thursday by visiting quebec.ca/vaccincovid or calling 1-877-644-4545. The government is strongly recommending people sign up online to avoid creating long wait times on the phone line.

I wasn't going to post a blog post today, because I injured my knee and it's quite painful. It was a near dislocation of a knee that's not supposed to dislocate anymore as it was operated on years ago and I was told that if I injured it again, they may not be able to fix it and I'd likely be wheelchair bound after that. That's not something I want. So have been trying to make the swelling go down and get rid of the pain. Fortunately for me, when I straighten my leg out and put weight on it, it doesn't hurt. But it does when it's bent or try to walk on it. So I'm on anti-inflammatories and mild pain relievers, with Voltaren slathered all over my knee.

However when I saw the news about vaccines starting in QC, I decided I have to post a post for whatever Quebecois Canadians that might visit my blog but missed the news in the mainstream news media but wants to know about it.  So that's why I'm here, posting a post when I'd rather be lounging on the sofa watching something on TV, with my leg up.

So now that I'm here, I might as well post the headlines I have for today....

Holiday bookings surge after lockdown exit plans I can imagine. Trouble is though, are the destination points going to want to have travellers arriving from beyond their borders at the precise moment in time the reservations are made for? I mean it's all well and good to want to go to Hawaii to celebrate your birthday in June, but will Hawaii want international travellers coming in (or coming in from your particular country) at that point in time? So I'd wait until things were a little more certain, before I made any costly travel plans, myself.

Card players dealt $5,000 in COVID fines in Surrey

Yup gov't gouging at it's finest. So given that scenario I don't know if I want to get the Bingo game I saw advertised at Hart's today, just to have a little fun with the kids or when the plandemic is in it's final gasps of life, maybe others with a small pot of money that we all pitch into as the jackpot for the winner. I can just see the QC gov't being all over us like ants at a picnic with super gouging fines, just because we wanted to have a little fun on our own.

Some watch B.C.'s COVID-19 briefings 'religiously.' Others have tuned out I wonder why. I can't say as I blame them. People (including me) are just getting super sick and tired of them and changing their rules and laws every 5 seconds, the way they do. It's to the point where it should be super easy to plead ignorance in a court of law for breeching one of their idiotic laws, by telling the judge that you thought the previous law was still in force (especially if they have a practice of changing their laws every few days like they do here in QC).

Schools should stay open even if there's a 3rd wave of COVID-19, experts say

Yes, that way we can ensure neverending spread in order to cut down on as many of the "useless eaters" as possible. Now that the feeble elderly have been gotten rid of we can concentrate our efforts at ridding the population of those other infirm people - with chronic illnesses, genetic defects, etc.... Once those are all taken care of we'll think about keeping the kids home perhaps on the 50th wave, if there's anyone left to care about by then.

Cross-border workers worry COVID 'politics' could complicate their commutes Welcome to the world of the Coronavirus, it's all political BS orchestrations in order to keep us confused, scared, compliant and downright obedient. Yes there is a pandemic raging, but since they're the numbers keepers, the ones who dictate what gets out to the press and doesn't get out to the press, we have no way of knowing how bad things really are and if the measures being enacted against us are reasonable and called for or if they're just because those in power are feeling their kahonas and getting high off their power trips they're able to use on account of this virus and their control of the information about it.

Seniors are locked in again. But this retirement home found the cure for isolation blues

Yes some of us are a little more tech savvy than others are, because after all we're the group that basically bought and brought PCs into our homes for our families - even in the very beginning before they were even very useful for anything other than playing games.

The most vulnerable are at greater risk in a new lockdown, groups say Precisely the conundrum that the homeless in Montreal have been grappling with since the plandemic began.

Why life under COVID-19 is playing into the hands of scammers

This is basically why I don't do anything online if I can help it. I don't bank online, I don't buy online if I can help it, but unfortunately a lot of stores don't help you there - they basically force you to buy online even though they have a bricks and mortar store and you should be able to get it from that location just as easily. As in they don't have it in stock but can order it from their warehouse and let you know when it comes in, as in the days of old before the internet came along. But noooooo..... Why would they do that? That wouldn't jeopardise as many people that way.

Italy's women and youth were hardest hit by COVID-19's economic impact. Now, its recovery hinges on them I think those are the segments of society globally, that are normally impacted by all downturns in society and economy.

THIS is the PROPER WAY TO QUARANTINE, except for the length of time. THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD'VE BEEN DONE CANADA WIDE & SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE PANDEMIC!!!! Maybe that's why we weren't getting anywhere or able to get rid of it, because of the half assed measures, instead of doing things right and once and getting it over with, we had to drag it out as long as possible by doing it the stupid way.

Pandemic Loneliness Is Hitting Young Adults Especially Hard

I can imagine. I can definitely imagine how lonely and upset and down my kids would've been to be excluded from their college group and friends. Our daughter didn't drive nor have a car, but our son did, so I could see him just taking off and going to see friends anyhow, while our daughter moped and moaned about not being able to see her friends.

As more governments mull vaccine passports, critics raise discrimination fears These passports shouldn't be a permanent document they have to carry and provide for the rest of their lives, just as a means of temporary proof that they were vaccinated and thus no longer a danger to others in the venue they wish to have admittance to.

Future Vaccines Depend on Test Subjects in Short Supply: Monkeys

If you're worried about the new strains and the vaccines for it. How about humans who've already got the main vaccine and if you're making booster shots, just make the boosters to work against the strain/s not covered by the main vaccine. Then that way the human test subjects will be able to provide accurate data on the efficacy of such booster shots.

Nov. 1 And Nowhere Near to the End of the October 31st Headlines Dealing With

 Covid19

Courtesy Pixabay.com

November 1, 2020

As the title suggests, it's now November 1, 2020 but I am nowhere near the end of posting the headlines up until October 31st's datelines. Over time they just accumulated and accumulated because there was so freaking many of them, that it was near impossible for me to get them all posted in a timely manner. So now I guess I'll be making several more posts over several more days to get caught up on the headlines going up until October 31st. After that date I am no longer keeping track of them unless there's a major occurrence (like say the case to death ratio changes radically for the worse, or a vaccine is finally available,  or the whole country or several whole countries are put into strict lockdown). Changes akin to those will cause me to reopen and continue blogging about COVID19. Until or unless that happens I'll just get to the end of the headlines I have and let it be except for the Bill Gates article and maybe a few other fun articles here and there so that the blog isn't totally dormant.

As for what kept me from working on it recently well there's a new toilet, The Old Guard (movie), takeout dinner with son who helped us pick up the new toilet (he has a jeep Cherokee and we have just a car), he stayed for dinner and the movie.

Then today we're dealing with a dachshund that seems to have a problem with a shoulder joint or something like that. It's a sudden new thing, but we don't know what she did to cause it, or if it's even a joint paint and not a rib pain, or something like that. She walks around and all, and climbs the stairs no problem but is hesitant to come down the stairs. All I know is the pain seems to be near her shoulders.  We still need to look for a pet bed for our dog so she can sleep downstairs instead of upstairs where she normally sleeps. So tomorrow if we can we want to take her to see the vet.

Plus we've had to go exchange a defective glucose meter my husband had at the pharmacy, who was obviously still on DST as she was locking the door just as we got there and we got there an hour before she normally closes when she's on same time as the rest of us.

So like everyone else, real life sometimes gets in the way of all my best laid plans too....

That being said, I'm now settling in to add as many headlines as I can to try to get caught up as soon as possible. So get comfortable and dig in....

I've always found solace in nature and so that accounts for why I live where I do. Though suburbanization is slowly encroaching on it, so soon there won't be any more of the pristine beauty that drew us to the area. Instead it'll be filled with houses who's front yards will looked like used car lots with the amount of cars the owners have. Like the neighbours across the street from us. There's 2 people there but they have 3 cars. They have 3 garage spaces for those cars, but do they park them in them? Nooooo instead they have to park them all out front in our faces destroying the beauty of the area - because now instead of seeing grass and water we see ugly cars and water.  The person who used to live there always had their vehicles parked in the garages so there was never a problem. It was a beautiful scenery here, as the houses blended in with the scenery. Now we have his ugly mansion and his used car lot blighting the beauty of the landscape. It's enough to make us want to sell our house and move somewhere nicer. Though I will miss some of our neighbours if we choose to go that route.

Gawd, I hope not. I'm already to the point where I detest wearing masks. Being asthmatic, I sometimes have a hard time to breath with one on and at those times I just want to rip the mask off my face, but don't because I know the backlash I'll get from all the sanctimonious idiots who believe all the hyperbole from the media, hook, line and sinker and believe they'll die the moment I remove my mask because they've been brainwashed to believe that.

Coronavirus updates: Wisconsin, Dakotas scramble for hospital beds; COVID outbreak kills nearly 8K minks at Utah farms; 212K US deaths That's sad that it's that lethal for mink considering they're such cute little creatures. It's equally sad that that many Americans have lost their lives to it too. Or for that matter than anyone loses their life to this disease, especially it could've been controlled and stamped out basically at the very beginning if the leaders and head honcho witch doctors weren't so gung ho to let it into all their countries "just to see what happens" (I bet that was one of the main ideas on why they let it in, as in an experiment - a real live pandemic that they could use to experiment on - mostly social, economic and psychological behaviours and problems). Because honestly most of those nitwits are too blind to even see to the ends of their noses, nevermind what could happen as a result of........ (fill in the blank which ever way you want as there's plenty of ways this pandemic has affected us, our society, our economy, etc...). They probably thought whatever affects it might have they'd be minimal with minimal impact, but just enough to be able to study them. Or at least that's what they'll tell us if we ever ask such a pointed question.

The riskiest activities during COVID-19  I'll save you time and make it short & sweet, because it's basically the truth. Anything that brings you pleasure, fun, happiness or makes you feel loved is forbidden.  It's as simple as that.

I wasn't even aware they could get into the Atlantic Bubble, if they drove there. And forgive me for asking,  but how else are they moving there if not via road or railroad? Unless they're gazillionaires and can afford to fly all their belongings there. So how are they managing to move there if the minute they approach the NB they're forbidden entry?

New, voluntary COVID-19 restrictions in Edmonton as cases spike Didn't you learn from the start back in February when the Chinese travellers came here and we told them to voluntarily isolate and they didn't!?! COVID-19 pandemic reveals major gaps in privacy law, says watchdog I agree even the Telemedicine which is in QC isn't safe from CSIS. At least I know if I went to my doctor's office CSIS wouldn't be listening in there, but now we're forced to share our health problems with others outside our doctor's offices. At the very least CSIS if you're only on the phone, maybe the NSA and one of the other 5 spies (depending on which one it is that's listening to Canadian citizens on behalf of Canada this year). So it's not just the online video conferencing folks who have to worry about breaches of privacy but even those just talking on the phone do too.

COVID-19 vaccination lessons from Canada's largest-ever mass immunization effort Yup I remember that. Our whole family had the H1N1 virus before a vaccine was ever even available in our area. It's probably a good thing we got the virus too, considering the most it did to us was cause us to be foggy headed for a few days, but ever afterwards immune to just about everything else that came afterwards. None of us ever got a cold, or anything after that, except maybe this pesky virus (which we're all pretty sure we had but can't prove) which we also managed to slough off pretty easily too, compared to a lot of others out there.

‘Never had such high demand’: British Columbians keen on flu shots amid COVID-19 We finally got an appointment for our flu shots. I wasn't going to get one, but my husband wants one, so I might as well get one too then. So anyhow we get ours near the end of this month.

China joins WHO-backed vaccine program COVAX rejected by Trump Why? So they can steal the research and samples and run off with that too like they did to the one they were working on with Canada? So in that case Trump was smart not to get involved as those who are involved aren't apt to see any of that research nor vaccine from it, now that China's involved.

25th Amendment: Democrats pitch bill on presidential succession commission, citing Trump's COVID diagnosis It's supposed to go to Pence if Trump is unable to remain as president, and then if Pence can't assume the responsibilities for whatever reason then itchy fingers Pelosi gets the job and I'm sure that's why her panties are all in knots over this because she probably wants to make sure everyone knows her rights to ascension to the throne. She might even be devising ways in her head to get Pence out of the picture so she can just head directly to the throne, which she'd probably pass directly over to Hillary the Witch. I'm sorry but I've been looking at those 2 witches chomping at the bit for the past 4 years and I can very easily see that happening, if Trump weren't able to resume his duties as president. But in retrospect, he has, so, what a shame those 2 conniving witches weren't able to get control.

How convenient. They were not only able to mention the 2nd wave but also prepare for it, et voila a couple of weeks later, one manifests for them.

I think that's pretty much true of all governments and if it isn't you'd have to question "why?". Is it because they have a slower than normal group of citizens - as in brains working a lot slower (and I'm beginning to think that might be the case here in Canada), or are they just a bunch of gutless conformists? Personally, I think it's both here in Canada, considering the QC government went all gestapo on us recently and no one batted an eyelash about it. Like it's perfectly normal and acceptable to have cops waltz into private home parties and break them up because of amount of people (not because of the substances being consumed there or the noise but because of the amount of people). I mean once they got their way there, what's stopping them from taking that one step further later when it seems beneficial to them for some reason or another and then one step further and so on, until everyone is obliged to provide lodging for 1 cop, so he's their in home gestapo boots.  And just to make sure you don't get too friendly with your inhome cop, they'll be rotated out every couple of days so you never ever get a chance to know or make friends with them. And those cops won't be posted for your protection.... No no no as that'll distract from their real job and that is keeping you in line. Your protection will continue to rely in after the fact calls to 911 and so on, who'll dispatch a squad car to your house to deal with that problem, while your cop detailed to watch you so you don't break the law, still continues to do that without let up. That's what's coming I think, if we don't revolt en masse.

Anyhow enough of this for one day... More later on until I've reached the end of the headlines current to October 31st.... Until then take care and stay well.

More Mint Jelly Making, Stacks of Dirty Dishes & ....

 Covid 19

Courtesy Pixabay.com
October 5, 2020

Using the last of the mint harvest I decided to make mint jelly instead of dehydrating it for tea. Since I already have a large quantity of dehydrated mint and we use more jelly/jams than we do teas - we're not big on tea, and usually only drink it as a remedy of some sort. Like when we have colds, we use ordinary tea with lemon and honey in it. When we have upset stomachs we steep finely chopped ginger in hot water to make a tea out of it. Or maybe my dried mint as a way of relieving stomach problems or for me anyhow it's a go to remedy for headaches and when I just need to relax after a hectic day. Being retired and all you can imagine how many hectic days we must have and now with the covid lockdowns and all.... Well you get the picture, I guess. So my dried mint lasts awhile to say the least. Hence the reason I felt maybe we might want the jelly more than the dehydrated mint itself.

On top of that after my husband finished cooking supper tonight, using up all the biggest of everything he could find in the cupboards in order to do so (so biggest sieves and colanders and dutch ovens) to make his dish for supper,  plus the dishes I used to make the mint jelly (also large) and the dishes from  the day's meals it was like trying to do the rubics cube in order to load the dishwasher tonight. A real brain teaser on how was I going to fit all this big stuff plus all the other stuff into it, so I could get them done. I finally managed, but had to leave a frying pan and a drinking glass out of it. But I managed to get the rest of it in there.

Now for some more of those neverending COVID19 headlines....

Time to start wearing that mask — or risk a $240 fine People in QC, should be so lucky. That's a miniscule fine compared to what QC'ers would get. Not sure what it is exactly, only I'm sure it's way more than that.

We probably won't be wanting to have many more of those for this year anyhow so we shouldn't have to worry about it, until next year.

Bleach touted as 'miracle cure' for Covid being sold on Amazon Now that should be ILLEGAL!!!! I know for a fact that in Canada it would be, as we have laws against false advertising and that's the epitome of false advertising if you ask me.

Tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts traveled to the Lake of the Ozarks for a bike rally weeks after a similar event in Sturgis was linked to COVID-19 cases in 8 states Wow, they just never learn in the US do they? They have to keep repeating their lessons over and over again before they learn anything at all apparently. Sturgis wasn't enough for them? Now they have to go to the Ozarks and see if they can repeat the lesson? Well it's true, bikers always were more brawn than brain.... Not the brightest bunch that's for sure.

Far-right conspiracy theorists say 94% of US COVID-19 deaths don't count because those Americans had underlying conditions. That's bogus.  Really? Personally I don't know how anyone would know anything about why anyone died in the US after that CDC mandate dictating that all deaths be labelled COVID19 in order to save time doing autopsies. So yeah the numbers are all wrong because  everything's been determined to have been COVID19 related whether it was or not. Even motorcycle accidents that killed the riders. Those weren't necessarily "underlying conditions" - though maybe you could say mangled everything is an underlying condition, but they didn't start out with those conditions before they died, just that they didn't have COVID19 either.

2nd COVID-19 surge could mean long-term health-care strain for chronic illnesses Don't worry, here in QC, they've figured out how to handle that..... Unless you have COVID19 they won't bother with you. That's how.

Police intervene after hundreds pack Ancaster, Ont., parking lot for event What's the difference between that, the drive-in comedy festivals, or drive-in movies, or drive-in bingo games, or drive in church services or even the stupid drive in or drive by graduation ceremonies they had in the spring? People are just getting sick and tired of being told what they can and can't do. Has it ever occurred to the authorities that not all people like doing the same mainstream stuff that some have  interests in the way of the obscure or fringe or maybe totally not mainstream and they might want to get together sometimes too? We're not talking anarchist clubs or anything like that here, just you know car buffs, or maybe off roaders or people who have other interests that don't necessarily fall into the church, bingo and drive-in movie categories.

Coronavirus: Ontario restricts social gatherings amid COVID-19 case surge But I bet the head honchos in government are still going to attend all their dinners and banquets they had lined up.

It's true they have almost no cases to even worry about, so having festivals isn't a problem for them. But it shouldn't be a problem for any event organizer who can figure out how to keep large groups a part and separated into individual family groups. It should be relatively simple if they have well defined entrance gate rules, with signs posted telling them to stick to the group they arrived with and don't commingle with anyone else (even if they know the other person in the other group). It's okay to wave, and maybe kind of yell hi, but not to approach and if they do, they'll be tossed out of the venue and forfeit the entrance fee. To keep their distance from all other groups at all times or again forfeit entrance fee and be tossed out. And that management reserves the right to refuse service and can terminate the attendees presence at the festival upon their discretion. As simple as that. Signs like that worked for other things (from shirts and shoes to bad behaviour to illegal or contraband items being brought in and all sorts of other things). That's all they have to do is set up strict conduct codes and enforce them. That way the majority of the people can still have a life and some fun in that life and do things without being treated like criminals and told to stay home under house arrest all the time. Like the saying goes "where there's a will there's a way". Trouble is the event organizers who say they want to have these events and stuff don't have either the will or the way (not sure which it is, maybe both - maybe they're just a bunch of lazy clueless idiots who can't chew gum and walk at the same time so doing and thinking of things like that is a stretch for them).

Quarantine exemption for billionaire | Sunday Scrum One rule for us little minions the cogs in the economic engine, and another rule for the billionaire owners of some of that engine, apparently.

Coronavirus is inspiring Halloween costumes, from Trump masks to tiaras: 'Most feared monster out there' Let's hope there is a Halloween and they get to use their costumes for some fun in this miserable cancel all the fun year we've been having.

Sounds like the same thing they had to endure here in Quebec and probably all of Canada, because unless you're a COVID19 patient (no matter severity), you don't count, even cancer and cardiology patients don't count anymore it seems. It seems like the hospitals have devolved into large units that specialize in one thing and only one thing and that is COVID19 - not even other respiratory illnesses count anymore  either, just COVID19.

Coronavirus: WHO sets rules for testing African herbal remedies I bet if any of them work they'll confiscate them and tell the people there that stuff is illegal and they can't have it and meanwhile reap as much of it as they can for their own purposes and keep all the seeds from the plants to sow in greenhouses on some other continent where they'll put that herbal remedy to use and into large scale production. And the people in Africa who discovered it will get no mention and no compensation for it's discovery. Instead some ivy league scientist with seniority, who's had his head up his ash for most of his sad, miserable life, will get the credit for it's discovery and development and get a Nobel Peace Prize from it too probably. Sorry if that sounds super cynical, but I've seen stuff like this happen before.

Why falling immigration isn't that bad for the economy during COVID-19 It's actually great! I don't think we need all those immigrants anyhow. Canadians should be encouraged to procreate to replace themselves and keep the population numbers up, without having to import people from everywhere.

Roy Green: It’s time Canada’s members of Parliament shared the financial pain Are you dreaming in techocolour there Mr. Green? Because you know & I know what's more likely to happen here in Canada is they'll share in the financial gain - all the money they're stealing from the poor in the way of fines for stupid shiete. That's what's more likely to happen. There's no way any of those lousey flea brained slouches would take a pay cut because OMG they're just so self-important & must be the be all and end all of all our lives here in Canada. That we just wouldn't be able to get along 2 seconds without them.

On that note, I'm ending the segment for today.... Until next time take care & stay well.
