On this stifling hot long weekend Saturday, where we were promised strong thunderstorms and rain to cool the place off, by this time, which never came, as per usual with the typical inaccuracy of the weather forecasts around here, I decided to stay inside out of the heat & humidity, even though all we have is a fan. So I decided I should maybe work at removing all the dandelion petals from all the dandelions I collected the other day, to maybe make some jelly or wine, depending on how much of them I have. Still don't know despite working at it for close to 4 hours, I'm still nowhere near being finished. So have to continue that tomorrow. I'll tell you though, it's a work out and a half for my thumb. I guess that'll give it some physio therapy and build strength and agility in it.
My husband has been DJing my efforts with some awesome music which continues now, - now it's Al Stewart and Time Passages followed by Year of the Cat and now Habibi followed now by Summertime Blues. But we've heard music from the 5th Dimension, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Canned Heat, AC/DC, Zager & Evans, Enya, and many other awesome groups. Brings back sooooooooooo many beautiful memories.
Oh what it is to be young again if only in memory.... Wishing I could have my youth back with all the things I know now and all the information available to us now that we had no way of finding out on our own back then, even encyclopedias didn't cover it all. The money as a young couple the money that we'd have been able to save just with all the how-tos available on the net now, we could've bought a mansion instead of our humble home we wound up buying instead. As we are and always have a been hands-on diy'ers. Okay, finishing my lamenting my long lost youth and moving on.... With Alice Cooper's "I'm 18" (perfect song for that) and this is a shout out to Eugene in NS, the summer that we drove around in your ancient 1938 or 48 car with a reel to reel tape deck in the back seat (because there was no radio or tape deck in the car), blasting that song. You know who you are - I'm pretty sure April remembers that too!
Okay... Back to present day and all it's problems and plandemics etc.... Geez after that walk down memory lane and all the fun I had, it's hard to drag myself back to this timeframe considering all the crap going down now.
And the pair that Gestapo Legault must have on him - they must be the size of the Himalayas. Gawd tonight, I got a phone call from his election campaign office asking me if I would help them campaign in my region. OMG..... I wanted to blurt out several things, like "are you f'n insane? I'd never help that wanna-be dictator get elected anywhere ever again!" among other things, but instead I blurted out "No, never and here's a clue for you I'm ENGLISH, so that should explain all you need to know to you!"
Because of the BS with Bill 96 that he's got going on now that basically would abrogate all the Anglophone and Allophone's rights, and make their lives even harder and more miserable than they are right now in this province. But hey, after reading what France did to Haiti after the slaves revolted and declared freedom, I don't think he can help it much as I think unbridled cruelty and harshness must run in the French's veins. It must be genetic or something. Definitely not based on reasonableness, or logic, or civility of any kind.
And Anglos and Allophones do NOT BE FOOLED BY ANGLADE the leader of the LIEberal party in QC either, as she's the one that suggested the extreme French courses in English CEGEPS as a means of pushing more French courses on English - making it harder for them to graduate. But she knew what would happen - suggest something extreme, wait for the push back and then offer the compromise which is what they wanted all along. That's the way politics works and how they get what they want. They make it look like they're walking it back and offering a compromise when in reality they aren't and that's the BS that Anglade pulled.
She's another Robert Bourassa - he introduced Bill 22 making French the SOLE working language of Quebec - remember this was a predecessor to Bill 101 later passed by Rene Levesque - the first leader of the Parti Quebecois party. Bill 101 was less harsh on the English, than bill 22 was and bill 101 still stands as the language law of QC, but now Gestapo Legault wants to either amend or replace 101 with bill 96. Not sure which is the case, as what I've heard seems to be that there would be 2 language laws bill 101 and bill 96. But bill 96 removes a lot of rights we anglos and allos had under bill 101. So Anglade is another snake in the grass just like Robert Bourassa was.
